We are extremely proud to release the NECAP scores from this past October.  Students in grades three through eight and grade 11 take the assessments in October of each year.  Our students did exceptionally well!  Deborah Gist, the Commissioner of Education, recognized North Smithfield last Friday at a press conference for our sustained improvement in the area of writing.  It has been a joint effort of parents, students, teachers and administrators that has brought this great success.  Congratulations to all!

This is a great way for those thinking of playing to give the sport a try.  All ages are welcome and the only equipment needed is a pair of sneakers!  Second Time Around Sports will be on hand with new and used lacrosse equipment!

Our annual Kindergarten Registration dates and times have been set.  Please come to NSES on either of these days to register your child for the 2012-1013 School Year.  The dates are:

Tuesday, March 27th  5:00 to 8:00 PM

Saturday, April 28th 9:00 to 12:00 noon

Please see the main district page to download and print all six documents needed for registration.  Be sure to bring them completed to registration.  Mrs. Marilyn Kelley, school nurse and Mrs. Toni  Holcomb, school secretary will be there to review and collect your documents.  Please be sure to bring everything so that records are complete. 

The annual Surveyworks! from the Rhode Island Department of Education is underway starting this week.  Students in grades 4 to 12 fill out the surveys unless parents choose to opt out.  A letter was sent home this week with your child explaining how you, as parents, can complete this simple ten minute survey.
